Technology
certainly has its advantages, but there are a few things you should
consider before letting an unqualified DJ or a friend host your
wedding or event with nothing more than an ipod or laptop.
1.
The sound quality on an ipod is inferior to
CD. To save space on ipods and laptops, music must be compressed.
The compressed files sound fine in ear phones, a stock car stereo,
or through your computer speakers, but when the music is amplified
on large systems, distortions caused by the compression amplify
stand out. The distortions come through in various ways. Sometimes
you hear a hiss like an old casette, you might hear blips and bleeps
in the music, or the musics sound level is extremely low. A quality
DJ will use CD’s whenever possible.
2. Computer based
systems may hold 80,000 or more songs, but they come with the same
problems we have with our personal computers at home. How many times
has your computer crashed right in the middle of something important?
3.
Don’t let the “I can get any song because of the internet”
fool you. Many wedding facilities don’t provide internet service.
Cell phone internet connections are as reliable as the connection
itself. If you are in a wedding hall you may get no reception. With
Sound Express, we meet with you and make sure we have every song
you will want before your event takes place.
4.
Finally, remember, people who DJ with this type of equipment are
not professional and usualy have little to no experience. Don't
ruin your special day by taking a risk with the most important part
of your party --the entertainment. Instead, let a fully qualified
and time testedcompany like Sound Express provide your entertainment.
